Some of their lifeguards suck. They need to know that just because a kid has a lifejacket on doesn’t mean they can’t drown. My 2yo Went down the slide and was rolling around in the water right in front of this lifeguard and he did nothing to help her. I had to run to her rescue. What’s the point of haveing lifeguards if they don’t help.

Also the lazy river is so dumb, you have to be 42in AND have to use a stupid tube.

Outstanding facility! Very well done Goodyear! This facility has everything you can think of. Tons of equipment, walking track (my favorite), programs for kids, yoga classes, basketball and Pickleball and that’s just inside! Great pool. Great for me is the free membership from my insurance company. Not sure what the actual cost is but this is one place not to be missed!

When our 2 hour time period was over, I wish they gave us a warning or were a little bit nicer. All the lifeguards blew their whistles and started shouting to get out of the water. More guards came running out of the building with life boards, like there was some event. Maybe a drill? Then as we were wondering what happened there was an announcement over the speakers about leaving, but it was hard to hear. Just awkward and a mean way to end the experience. Maybe an extremely loud 15 minute warning chime or bells would have been nicer, and finding a better way to calmly end the swimming time would have been better. I appreciate that the seating areas were all shaded. Had an overall good experience here. Just like a mini water park, everything is small but fun. It is free these 2 opening weeks, then it will go to $75 per family until the end of the year. Then after that it jumps to $600 for a family annual pass. I have no idea how a family would afford that, and that is an insanely high price. I'm not sure the money would be worth it, it's just pool's, a splash pad area, and 1 tall slide. Cool, but not competition for Hurricane Harbor, and neighborhood pools and splash pads can be just as fun on a weekly basis. I hope they lower the annual price.

The lights turn off. We knew we had to leave we were washing our feet. We were talking after we were done to figure out what to do and she came at us again all rude after we heard and she told us. She was telling other family’s rude things as well to hurry up. When it was a big family trying to clean up. If she told us nicely we would have been okay but she came around all rude again even others were saying she didn’t have to say it rude. Other then that we all had a good time.

As a single mom who tries to spread love and kindness, we had a busy Mother’s Day this Sunday.
I took my son to church, taught bible school, spent $30 of my last $55 dollars, to help the kids make Mother’s Day gifts for their Moms and grandmas.
Took my granny to a fast food lunch for Mother’s Day.
Messaged all the mom’s I know, and then set out to have a nice time with my 3 year old son.
So we began the 45 minute drive to Goodyear from north phoenix.

I had been told by multiple moms at our Goodyear school, that Goodyear rec center had a wonderful pool and we should visit.

When we got there we must have parked in the wrong spot, and had to walk at least half a mile through the park and around the building in 100 degrees.

We finally found an open door in the front and had a laugh with the entry security about our long walk and how red and sweaty we were.

We wished each other Happy Mothers Day and told them how excited we were.

When we got to front desk the young lady informed me that because we didn’t live in Goodyear we weren’t welcome to swim.

My 3 year old began to cry. I told her we had been told to visit the pool, because we go to school in Goodyear, and had driven almost an hour and walked a long way…
She said curtly, “sorry, can’t let you in, unless you know someone in Goodyear…”

I said “Is there anyway you can help us? It’s Mother’s Day, and I don’t want to call our school moms asking for help it would be rude.”

She said “sorry” with no emotion.

I told her my son needed to use the restroom and she pointed to one outside the gates.

I thanked her, and carried my crying kid to the bathroom and then all the way to the car because he kept running to the gate and looking at the pool and crying.

We were both devastated.

I was tired, sad, and discouraged. I just wanted my baby and I to enjoy a very rare day off with each other.

I think anyone could agree, there was a lot more that could’ve been done for a single mom and son in the last 2 pool hours on Mother’s Day Sunday.

While I can understand to an extent rules are rules, I noticed non-residents can sign up for mako sharks, to swim, and if all I needed was an address any employee who I would want working for my company would have shown enough compassion to find a way to let a harmless toddler and Mother in on Mother’s Day.

For the kind hearts out there,
Thank you!!!!

Can't beat a day's entertainment for the whole family at a bargin price. They do not have a concessions stand but they DO allow people to bring in their own food & drinks. Total game changer on how we will spend our summer!!!
