Not really a huge park by any means, but for a quick walk, or nice view of a lake while stuffing your face with some Hot Dog Heaven (which sits directly within walking distance of the park.
They also have a couple of tables with covering above to eat, and bring some food to enjoy the outside weather.

This is a great "up and coming" neighborhood just to the southeast of Baldwin Park. The park is basic with only one picnic table, and the County needs to make it more people friendly by supplying doggie trash bags. Nevertheless, it's a great place to sit and watch the wildlife or to fish while having a lunch. You'll see lots of ducks and anhingas swimming around and many others flying by. If you're lucky, you'll spot the otters playing, a hawk soaring above, or even a bald eagle swooping down to snatch a fish out of the lake.

It was such a nice park and the amount of ducks you see omg they are so cute. But the only problem I had was the 2 crack heads tryna shoot up and giving me a dirty look because I was walking past. ? Don't want someone walking past then don't shoot up in a damn park. Stupidity at its best! ?

This place is by definition, a park. But there's not much to do here. Dictionary definition: "A piece of ground in or near a city or town kept for ornament and recreation." There are a few pavilions where you can have a picnic / eat outside, but it's nothing to write home about. Small area to walk your dog also. You can walk from one end of this park to another in less than 5 mins. An enclosed dock is nice if you like fishing. Not sure if that's legal, however. An airport is nearby so you'll hear a lot of planes flying around.

For how small this park is, they’ve done a good job with it and it appears to be kept up with. The lake has very light littering in it, but the lesser park visitors aren’t the only ones contributing to that seeing that this park only sits on a very small portion of this lake’s (Little Lake Barton) shoreline. There’s really not much to be said about the park, and you should check it out on Google Maps before visiting it, honestly. If you have high expectations, you’ll probably be let down.

I rate the fishing here a 1 out of 10; take that with a grain of salt though as I’ve only tried fishing here once during the evening from 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM. The small shoreline that is accessible in the park grounds is littered with lily pads, but produced no strikes while finesse fishing them with a brown pumpkin lizard with chartreuse tail. The dock and surrounding area was just the same and produced no strikes (aside from a small bluegill bite), even with topwater and a senko style stick bait; the only baitfish that I saw were minnows and small, ¼ lbs. bluegill too.

The area of the lake that is accessible by the park just seems dirty and somewhat stagnant, and I could see fish striking topwater on the other side of the lake but nowhere on the side that I was fishing from. The water is so dirty that I could not see into it beyond 1.5 feet. I’m not sure if this is due to recent rains or if this is just the typical state of the lake’s water conditions (as it didn’t look like floating sediment in the water), but I’ll be back again to see if I can catch something another day. I have a feeling that this lake may be much like Lake Baldwin around the corner, and the fish in it just may be very partial to live bait – sometimes shiners are just about all they’ll hit. I’ll be back with some of those and with some different artificial baits. The lake has some depth to it, and it’s pretty clear to cast out into off of the dock and work a spinner bait, rattle trap, or crankbait through.

A couple of shady characters approached the park and dock while I was there, and immediately turned around once they saw me. There was also a disassembled bicycle on the dock and a lot of writing on the dock itself. So although it didn’t appear that anything too terrible happens there when no one’s looking, some sketchy activity does go down here, like any park. Nothing that I could tell was of huge concern though.

Thank you to the city for doing their best with this park! Hopefully the condition of the lake clears up; it would be a great lake if it did.
